Where to Request Records

For a court docket or warrant process, start with the court that issued it. For service, return, custody, or jail material, ask the sheriff which office holds the record. The County Clerk at 114 East 3rd Street, Suite 6, can route general county-office questions at 308-235-2241, but the clerk is not automatically the holder of every court or sheriff file.

Under Nebraska Public Records Law, make a narrow written request with the record type, case number or date range, preferred format, and fee estimate. Ask for public portions that can be separated from material that may be withheld. Section 84-712.04 addresses written denials and review information.

General county office hours are listed Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Verify holidays, security instructions, and payment forms before visiting.
